Oasis in the Mountains
An Ashram-Style Residency for the Embodiment of Sovereignty

This space is devoted to stabilization, regulation, and long-term embodiment

Welcome to Oasis in the Mountains.

This is an ashram-style residency located in the mountains of the Dominican Republic, devoted to the embodiment of sovereignty through regulation, presence, and integration.

This land is not oriented toward retreat, escape, or short-term transformation. It exists to support those who are ready to slow down, stabilize their inner authority, and live what they already know.

Oasis in the Mountains is a space of intentional rhythm, clear boundaries, and shared respect for the land, the body, and the nervous system.

What This Space Is and What It Is Not

Oasis in the Mountains is an ashram-style residency devoted to integration, regulation, and the embodiment of sovereignty.

It is not a retreat designed for escape, catharsis, or transformation as an event.
It is not a program, a ceremony-based offering, or a place where change is pursued through stimulation.

This space exists for those who are ready to stabilize inner authority and live in right relationship with intensity rather than chase it.

Relationship to Intensity

The technologies present here are potent and can be intense.

However, this residency is not oriented toward seeking intensity, peak states, or rapid transformation as a goal. The emphasis is on developing the capacity to remain present, regulated, and coherent within intensity, without being overtaken by it.

Intensity may arise here.
Stillness may also arise.

What is being cultivated is the ability to remain centered in either state.

What This Space Is

• A living residency grounded in rhythm, simplicity, and containment
• A land-based environment that supports long-term integration
• A space where calm becomes a baseline rather than a temporary experience
• A container for maturity, responsibility, and self-regulation
• A place where sovereignty is embodied through daily life, not performance

This residency supports who you are becoming by asking less of you, not more.

What This Space Is Not

• Not a retreat or vacation destination
• Not a healing center promising outcomes
• Not a ceremonial or medicine-focused experience
• Not a place of constant facilitation or guidance
• Not a short-term immersion designed to create dramatic change

There is no urgency here.
There is no pressure to process, perform, or arrive anywhere.

If you are seeking intensity as an escape, identity, or substitute for embodiment, this space will not meet you.

If you are ready to slow down, remain present, and develop sovereignty as a lived posture within real conditions, this land may be a fit.

The Land and Its Energetic Architecture

Jamao al Norte

Oasis in the Mountains is located in the mountain region of Jamao al Norte in the Dominican Republic.

This land is not curated for spectacle or escape.
It is a living environment that naturally supports regulation, orientation, and presence.

The rivers, waterfalls, forest, and open land function as stabilizing elements rather than experiences to consume. Wind, water, earth, and sun are encountered through daily life, not staged immersion.

The environment here tends to slow the body down.
Breath deepens. Attention settles. Sensory input becomes simpler.

This is not because the land is dramatic, but because it is consistent.

Over time, residents often notice that stillness becomes more accessible, not through effort, but through repeated exposure to a stable natural rhythm.

The land does not ask for interpretation.
It offers conditions that support coherence.

Living Spaces

Casitas for Rest, Regulation, and Integration

The casitas at Oasis in the Mountains are designed to support simplicity, rest, and nervous-system regulation.

These are not luxury accommodations, nor are they austere.
They are intentional living spaces that encourage grounded presence and uninterrupted integration.

Each casita provides
• a quiet place to sleep and rest
• space for reflection and journaling
• physical separation between rest and shared areas
• simplicity that supports clarity rather than stimulation

The casitas are part of the work.

Rest here is not treated as downtime.
It is understood as a primary integration practice.

Residents are encouraged to
• limit external stimulation
• keep spaces uncluttered
• allow sleep, rest, and stillness to do their work

The environment supports consistency rather than comfort as distraction.

The Temple Space

The temple at Oasis in the Mountains is a shared space dedicated to stillness, presence, and internal orientation.

It is not a ceremonial hall and not a place of constant activity.
It is a space where residents can return to themselves through quiet, breath, and awareness.

The temple may be used for
• sitting practice
• breath regulation
• prayer or reflection
• journaling
• quiet presence

There is no required practice and no performance expected here.

The temple exists to support consistency, not intensity.

It is a place to pause, settle, and realign with oneself without instruction or external guidance.

The temple is available to residents as a supportive environment, not as a facilitated or ceremonial offering.

Daily Rhythm and Structure

Oasis in the Mountains
The rhythm at Oasis in the Mountains is designed to support regulation, consistency, and sovereignty rather than productivity or performance.

This is not a schedule to follow rigidly.
It is a steady spine that allows the nervous system to settle and the body to orient over time.

The structure remains consistent whether the steward is present or not.

Morning Orientation

Mornings are reserved for quiet and internal orientation.

Residents are encouraged to
• wake naturally
• limit external input
• move slowly into the day
• spend time in stillness, breath, or gentle movement

This time is intentionally non-social.
The morning sets the tone for presence rather than stimulation.

Midday Integration

Late morning and early afternoon are self-directed.

This time may include
• time in nature
• journaling or reflection
• rest
• creative or contemplative work
• quiet time in the temple

There is no expectation to fill the space.

Learning to remain with oneself without distraction is part of the work.

Meals are simple, grounding, and unrushed.
They are treated as part of regulation, not as events.

Afternoon Embodied Living

The afternoon supports embodiment through ordinary life.

This may include
• personal upkeep
• light land care
• preparing food mindfully
• rest or solitude

This is where sovereignty becomes practical rather than conceptual.

Evening Wind-Down

Evenings are designed to support closure and integration.

Residents are encouraged to
• reduce stimulation
• limit conversation as the evening progresses
• spend time in reflection or quiet presence
• rest early

Silence is not enforced, but it is respected.

Sleep is treated as a primary integration practice.

A Note on Guidance

This residency does not operate on constant facilitation.

When the steward is present, there may be
• occasional orientation
• group satsang or shared inquiry
• intentional guidance

When the steward is not present, the rhythm remains the same.

This structure supports autonomy rather than dependence.

Why Rhythm Matters Here

Sovereignty is not built through intensity or information.
It stabilizes through repetition, simplicity, and time.

The daily rhythm at Oasis in the Mountains exists to
• reduce internal noise
• support nervous-system regulation
• cultivate calm as a baseline
• allow integration to unfold naturally

Nothing is rushed here.

This Rhythm Is For Those Who Are Ready To

• Be with themselves without constant input
• Take responsibility for their internal state
• Live simply without deprivation
• Allow clarity to emerge over time

If you require constant stimulation or direction, this structure will feel uncomfortable.

That discomfort is informative.

Community Context and Boundaries

Oasis in the Mountains is an ashram-style residency situated within a living land-based community.

This is not a closed or fully cloistered ashram environment.

It is a stewarded property where multiple individuals live and work in ongoing relationship with the land.

Residents staying at Oasis will encounter
• land stewards
• neighboring residents
• others who live on or near the property

These individuals are not participants in the residency and are not involved in what is being facilitated during a resident’s stay.

Integration Within Shared Space

Part of the work here is learning how to remain regulated, present, and sovereign within shared environments.

This includes
• respecting the rhythms of those who live on the land
• moving with awareness rather than entitlement
• maintaining inner stillness without requiring external control

This residency is not designed to remove you from life.

It supports integration within life as it is.

Privacy exists.
Quiet exists.
So does community.

Clear Boundaries

The residency structure applies only to those staying in the designated casitas or approved camping spaces.

Those who live on the land
• do not follow the residency rhythm
• are not available for facilitation, guidance, or processing
• are not part of the residency container

These boundaries are intentional and protect everyone involved.

Why This Matters

Sovereignty is not cultivated through isolation alone.
It is stabilized through clear boundaries within real-world conditions.

Learning to hold one’s center while coexisting with others is part of the maturation this land supports.

This is not a limitation of the space.

It is a feature of the work.

Discernment

If you are seeking complete seclusion or a fully monastic environment, this residency will not be a fit.

If you are ready to embody sovereignty within a living community, with clarity, restraint, and self-responsibility, this land may support you.

Residency Details

Oasis in the Mountains

The residency at Oasis in the Mountains is designed to support depth, consistency, and integration rather than short-term immersion.

This is a living space with clear parameters that protect the land, the residents, and the integrity of the work.

Capacity

Oasis in the Mountains can host up to eight residents at a time in the casitas.

Additional camping space may be available on a limited basis when appropriate and aligned with the residency rhythm.

Capacity is intentionally kept small to maintain quiet, coherence, and respectful use of the land.

Minimum Stay

A minimum stay is required.

Short stays do not allow the nervous system to fully settle and often create more disruption than integration.

Minimum recommended stay: 10 to 14 days

Longer stays of three weeks or more are strongly encouraged for those seeking deeper stabilization and embodiment.

Extended and long-term residencies may be available by application or invitation.

What the Residency Includes

• Lodging in a private or shared casita
• Access to the land and temple space
• A consistent daily rhythm that supports regulation and presence
• Utilities and basic infrastructure
• A quiet, intentional environment for integration

The residency is self-directed and grounded in personal responsibility.

What the Residency Does Not Include

• Daily facilitation or instruction
• Ceremonial offerings
• One-on-one guidance by default
• Group programming or coursework
• Retreat-style experiences

Any direct work with the steward is optional, intentional, and arranged separately.

Orientation and Responsibility

Residents are expected to

• respect the land and shared spaces
• maintain their own regulation and rhythm
• engage with the environment thoughtfully
• honor quiet, boundaries, and simplicity

This residency supports sovereignty.
It does not replace it.

A Note on Pace

Nothing here is rushed.

Arrival, settling, and integration unfold over time.
Residents are encouraged to allow the land and structure to work gradually rather than seeking immediate results.

Meet the Founder

Taheera Saahir

Taheera Saahir is the steward of Oasis in the Mountains and the founder of Ecology of Shamanism.

Her work is rooted in long-term relationship with land, nervous-system regulation, and the integration of ancient technologies into lived human experience. Rather than emphasizing peak states or transformation through intensity, her focus is on stabilization, discernment, and the embodiment of sovereignty over time.

Oasis in the Mountains was established not as a retreat destination or ceremonial center, but as a living residency where presence, responsibility, and inner authority can mature without urgency or performance.

Taheera’s role within the space is intentional and contained. She is not positioned as an on-demand guide or facilitator, but as a steward who maintains the integrity, rhythm, and boundaries of the land.

This clarity allows the land itself to remain the primary teacher.
